Donate Used Cell Phones To Interfaith AIDS Ministry
DANBURY â Interfaith AIDS Ministry of Greater Danbury is asking cell phone users to answer the call and turn in their used cell phones to help raise funds for its HIV/AIDS prevention and education work in the greater Danbury area.
âThe primary goal of our phone drive fundraiser is to collect wireless phones that consumers arenât using anymore,â said Fred L. Hammond, executive director. âWith more than 30 million used wireless phones lying idle in American homes and businesses, an individual can turn a used item into new funding that helps support our mission in a simple but effective way.â
Any portable cellular or PCS phone is accepted, excluding bag phones or vehicle installed models. Interfaith AIDS Ministry will also take a phoneâs battery or charger, if available. All donors should deactivate the wireless service of any donated phones before turning them in.
âWeâre very excited about this new fundraising opportunity,â said Michelle Thompson, Fundraising chair.
The public may send or bring their used wireless phones to Donate A-Phone, c/o Interfaith AIDS Ministry, 46 Main Street, Danbury, CT 06810.
