Richard Kenerson At Next SCAN Meeting
Richard Kenerson of New Fairfield will be demonstrating his mastery of colored pencil at the next meeting of The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown, on Wednesday, July 25, at 1:30 pm. Mr Kenerson is known for bringing freshness to a medium, which is considered very demanding.
The meeting is open to the public and will be held at Newtown Meeting House (lower level), 31 Main Street in Newtown. Admission is free.
Richard Kenersonâs educational background includes a degree in theatre from Boston University. During his long career in the theatre, publishing and recording industries, he applied his design and illustration skills to creating theatre posters, record album covers and book jackets.
Since 1986 he has been a full-time artist and his efforts have been rewarded with a long list of awards: a first prize in graphics from Housatonic Art League and Richter Art Center, a best-in-show from Bethel Art League, and many others. His work is represented in collections in the United States and Europe.
Mr Kenerson has just received two commendations from the state of New York for his years of work at Northern Westchester Center for the Arts in Mt Kisco for his teaching and curating of their exhibitions. He teaches throughout Connecticut and Westchester County.
