Adjacent Hunts

 

SUNDAY, AUGUST 26 – The Old Chatham Hunt Club will hold a pre-season Hunter Pace on Sunday, August 26, from 9 am to 1 pm, at Highland Farm on Highland Road in Old Chatham, New York. There will be a beautiful eight-mile course with clearly-marked arrows and flags, more than 50 varies cross country fences, and go-arounds. Teams of two or three riders are welcome (riding helmets are required and informal attire is okay). Current Coggins test is also required. Entrance fee ($60 for adults and $25 for junior riders 17 and under) includes lunch. Ribbons will be award. Call Susan Smith at 1-518-733-9476 for further information.

SUNDAY, JULY 29 – Hillside Equestrian Meadows at 1260 Woodtick Road in Wolcott will hold a horse show on Sunday, July 29, starting at 8 am (rain or shine). There will be a $50 Visiting Trainer of the Day Award, a Low Hunter “Cooler” Division, a Modifield Adult Hunter (Halter” Division, a Short Stirrup “Cooler” Division and more. Deadline for entry is 5 pm on the Friday preceding the show. Call 1-203-910-5701.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 5 – The 11th annual Washington Horse Show will be held Sunday, August 5, at 8 am (rain or shine), at the Steep Rock Riding Ring in Washington Depot. There will be Walk/Trot, Beginner, Equitation, Hunter, Washington Hunter and Open Pleasure Divisions. Entry fee is $8 before August 3 and $10 after. SUNDAY, AUGUST 5 – Brushy Hill Farm will hold its third horse show of the summer season on Sunday, August 5. There will be divisions for Beginners, Equitation, Hunters, Pleasure and Adult. SUNDAY, AUGUST 26 through SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 2: The Hampton Classic Horse Show, the nation’s most prestigious hunter-jumper horse show, returns to Bridgehampton, New York on Sunday, August 26 (see www.hamptonclassic.com for events and schedule).
