The U13 Prime Time club lacrosse team, which is coached by Newtown's Scott Bulkley, and includes his son, Jake, a long stick middie, qualified for the World Series of Youth Lacrosse, in Denver, in early July. Prime Time made it all the way to the championship game, which was televised on ESPN2.

Prime Time fell to the Long Island Express in the pinnacle game after overcoming several strong squads to reach the finals. Despite being unranked going into the tournament, Prime Time defeated three teams ranked among the top 12 in the country, including top-ranked Igloo in the semifinals.

This tournament requires each team to have all the players on the roster meet the required birth date so that it truly is a U13 tournament, similar to the little league World Series, Scott Bulkley notes.

Prime Time qualified by competing in one of the regional tournaments the World Series of Youth Lacrosse held across the country. The field consisted of 24 total teams; two teams were from Canada, one from Israel, and one team came from the Iroquois nation.

Long Island Express, one of the top teams in the country, has sent more players to division I schools than any other club program, Coach Bulkley notes.
