BETHEL — A benefit event for Newtown resident Brian Tomasulo, “It Takes A Village,” is scheduled for Friday, July 18, at 5 pm, at The Spot in Bethel. Guests can enjoy music, food, raffles, and more; $10 suggested donation.

Brian graduated from Newtown High School in 1999, where he was part of the wrestling team. He is a personal trainer at Triumph Fitness in Bethel, and currently lives with his father Peter in Newtown.

Friends have set up an online donation page to help with raising funds as he fights brain cancer.

The fundraising page details Mr Tomasulo’s diagnosis in October 2013, and asks, “Please contribute whatever you can to help Brian recover from brain surgery and continue his fight against cancer. He has a long road to full recovery but it is possible with your help.”

The restaurant is at 1 Front Street, at the corner of Greenwood Avenue (to the immediate west of the railroad tracks), in downtown Bethel.
