Loving Husband, Father, And Brother

Whitney “Whit” Kerr, 74, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of 39 years of Shirley Carter Kerr, died July 6, at St Vincent’s Medical Center under Hospice care. Born in Rumford, Maine, he was the son of Irene and Rupert Kerr and had been a Bridgeport resident for most of his adult life.

Mr Kerr was the brother to Lois Hood of Newtown. Survivors in addition to his wife include two loving sons; three grandchildren; two brothers; and several other relatives.

He was a retired information systems director for D’Agostino’s Supermarkets in Larchmont, N.Y., following 27 years of service.

A memorial service will take place Sunday, July 24, at 2 pm, at the Golden Hill United Methodist Church, Bridgeport. Interment will be private and calling hours have been omitted.

The Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield, is assisting the family with arrangements.
