Summer Festival Takes Over Downtown Bethel July 15-17

BETHEL — Historical Downtown Bethel is hosting its 32nd Annual Summer Festival and Sidewalk Sale, July 15-17. Shoppers are invited to stroll the cobblestone walkways up and down Greenwood Avenue and enjoy Bethel’s many shops, restaurants and street vendors Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm, and Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm.

The event is organized by the Bethel Chamber of Commerce and made possible by its Gold Sponsor, Verizon Wireless.

Besides in-store bargains being made available during the event, visitors will be entertained with live music and a Bethel scavenger hunt on Sunday, an ice cream eating contest at 2:30 pm Saturday, and balloons for the children at Verizon.

Visitors can also stop by the new Bethel Chamber office at 184 Greenwood Ave and pick up a free goody bag while supplies last.

Fans and owners of classic and custom vehicles can attend a cruise night Saturday at the Sycamore Drive-In Restaurant beginning at 6 pm, and there is a block party at The Spot Restaurant Saturday evening as well, according to chamber officials.
