CarFit Safety For Seniors

SOUTHBURY — CarFit testing, a free 12-point testing of drivers age 65 and older to learn how their personal vehicles fit with their current capabilities and needs for safety, will be offered Saturday, July 23.

Sponsored by the Aging in Place Resource Center in Southbury with volunteers from Easter Seals, CarFit check-ups for seniors will be conducted in collaboration with AAA-American Automobile Association, AARP, American Society on Aging, and the American Occupational Therapy Association. The event will help senior drivers learn if their cars need adjustments or adaptations for greater safety.

Testing will be held in the rear of Union Square Plaza, 385 Main Street South, from 10 am to 2 pm.
