Summer Camps Continue Across Town
Summer Camps Continue Across Town
Camps continued to entertain students this week, with Newtown Continuing Educationâs SMART (Summer Music and Arts) programs continuing through a second week of the first session of programs offered at Head Oâ Meadow Elementary School, and the Parks and Recreation Departmentâs programs running at different locations around town.
Food Fun for the Summertime, overseen by Sharon Martovich, was busy just an hour into its first day on Monday, July 9, with participating students working to make buffalo chicken dip while peach cobber baked in an oven at Newtown Middle School.
In another program, students voiced excitement in one of NMSâs art rooms on Monday as they worked on clay sculptures in Parks & Recâs Paint, Draw and More course, overseen by Barbara Hager.
The SMART programs are set to have a showcase at the end of this week before the second session of the programs begin.
