Police Probe Theft Of Safe From Inn

Police said this week that they received a report on June 23 that someone had stolen a safe containing valuables on that day from The Inn at Newtown at 19 Main Street.

An employee noticed that a safe was missing from the premises, police said. The theft occurred at approximately 6:15 am, according to police.

It is believed that the person or persons who stole the safe exited the premises through a side door at the inn’s kitchen, police said.

The safe contained valuables including cash, keys, and paperwork valued at approximately $2,000 overall, according to police.
