Registration For St Rose Religious Education
Registration For St Rose Religious Education
St Rose is registering children from kindergarten through eighth grade for religious education classes that begin the week of September 16. The 26 one-hour sessions throughout the school year are focused on leading children to a spiritual relationship with God as well as teaching them about their Catholic heritage.
The education program currently begins in kindergarten classes, which train children to be aware of God in their everyday life, through the people they meet and the wonder and beauty of life. The first and second grade formation years are necessary for students to develop an understanding of Christâs presence in the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist. The elementary school-age classes (grades 3-6) lead children to live life according to Godâs plan, learning from both Christian and Hebrew scripture. During the middle school years, students begin a two-year preparation program to receive the sacrament of Confirmation. Confirmation candidates learn the significance of the Holy Spirit guiding their lives and the importance of serving God through church and community.
This year St Rose Parish Community will begin an education program for high school students. For most students, formal faith education ends after Confirmation; however, during the high school years, students begin to critically think, process, and take action on relating their faith to everyday decision making. Students will meet once per month for ten months with youth leaders and guest speakers, who will lead them in discussion and activity.
