Police said motorist Robert Connolly, 39, of Ansonia turned himself in at the police station July 11 after learning that police had a warrant for his arrest.

After processing, police released Mr Connolly on a written promise to appear July 25 in Danbury Superior Court.

Church Hill DWI

Police report that while on patrol about 10:40 pm July 11, they spotted motorist David Jones, 30, of Ridgeland, Miss., driving through a red traffic signal at the intersection of Church Hill Road and Interstate-84. Police said they stopped the vehicle Jones was driving and gave him field sobriety tests, which he failed.

Police charged Jones with driving while intoxicated and failure to obey a state traffic control signal. Police held Jones on bond for a court appearance the following day.

Thrown Object

Police said they received a report about 6 pm July 7 from a local motorcyclist that while he was driving on Church Hill Road the driver of an automobile threw an object at him, striking him in the back, leaving a mark and causing pain.

The motorcyclist obtained the driver’s marker plate number, police said.

Police said they later charged Douglas Randlett, 19, of 14 Indian Hill Lane, Sandy Hook, with second-degree assault in connection with the incident. Police released Randlett for a July 20 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
