Louis Singer

Louis Singer, 89, died July 6.

“Sweet Lou,” as he was known by friends and family, was predeceased by his wife of almost 60 years, Gertrude. He is survived by his two sons, Robert and his wife, Amy, of Newtown, and Richard and his wife, Linda, of Jacksonville, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Cindy, Joshua, Beth and Jessica.

He was a proud veteran of World War II. His career was in the wholesale liquor industry, and then as owner of Lou Singer’s Steak House in Old Greenwich.

Upon retiring, he moved to Pompano Beach, Fla.
