Letter Was

‘Ruthless And One-Sided’

To the Editor:

This letter is in response to Ted Ruddock’s letter written in the The Newtown Bee July 4.

The residents who chose to confront Jenna’s letter, and not the other letters, was because Jenna’s letter was very ruthless and one-sided. It couldn’t be more clear that Jenna’s values are self-interested.

I volunteered for three months at Ashlar and I didn’t bump into any children volunteering nor run into little Jenna reading Shakespeare to the residents.

There are hundreds of Newtown residents working thousands of hours just to pay their taxes. They are the blue-collar workers who do not have investments to rely on for income. Nor do they have the benefit of living in Equestrian Heights.

As far as senior citizens are concerned, if it wasn’t for the greatest generation, little Jenna wouldn’t have a town to live in, nor a country.

As for you Mr Ruddock –– can the next generation and their families depend on you to continue paying your enormous taxes after your children have a graduated school or will you skip town then? If you don’t like living in a town that does not concentrate all its efforts on education then you should move!

Regards,

Sharon Lucsky
