Gail Heneghan

Gail (Russell) Heneghan, 59, of 72 Alpine Circle, Sandy Hook, died July 6 at Danbury Hospital. She was the wife of Michael J. Heneghan.

Mrs Heneghan was born January 13, 1944, in Mahopac, N.Y., daughter of the late Robert L. and Ella Fern (Willett) Russell.

She had been a sports reporter for The Newtown Bee during the 1970s.

Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Timothy J. McCarroll and Michael John Heneghan, both of Sandy Hook; three daughters, Tracy McCarroll Fisher of Sandy Hook, Tara McCarroll Ferris of Newtown, and Terry McCarroll Heneghan of Brookfield; one brother, Richard Russell of Sherman; three sisters, Lynn Russell Manville of Southbury, Terry Russell Koval of Thomaston, and Cindy Russell Edmond of Watertown; and five grandchildren, Dylan Tambascio of Newtown, T.J. Fisher, and Ryan, Taylar and Brandon Heneghan, all of Brookfield.

Calling hours were July 9 at the Carpino Funeral Home, Southbury. Interment was July 10 in Zoar Cemetery, Sandy Hook.
