Carnival Was A Great Time

To the Editor:

On behalf of the Parish Community of St Rose, I want to thank everyone who supported our annual carnival. It was a great success due to the generosity of so many who helped us in so many ways. Of course, we thank God for five days of sunshine! Good weather makes a difference. We also thank the many people from Newtown who attended the carnival.

I also want to thank our many parishioners who stepped forward and helped with this year’s event. The donations of goods and services, the hours involved in planning and setup, the willingness to volunteer and work the carnival grounds, and the many who pitched in at the end of every night to clean up, have not gone unnoticed. I thank the people of this parish for their endless generosity in helping us maintain ourselves as an ever-growing community of faith and hope. We are truly blessed in one another and the goodness that we share.

The Newtown Police and the Newtown Hook and Ladder Company were a positive presence throughout the carnival. The various permits needed by the town were graciously reviewed and granted. The patience in dealing with traffic by those who were simply driving by is also appreciated by us.

Thanks to all who made this year’s carnival a great time!
