Dinner-In-The-Park
Celebrate an exciting family night this week, with Dinner-in-the-Park, a fundraiser, sponsored by the Newtown Democratic Town Committee. All Newtowners are invited to enjoy cool summer breezes and cool jazz from The Judson Jazz Quintet, a local group featuring Ralph Hudson on saxophone, Ron Vitarelli and Toney Gaudiosi on guitar, David Reynolds on drums, and Bill Platt on piano. Hear jazz standards from the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s, âas good as Bourbon Street.â
There is still time to buy tickets. According to the event organizers, when you taste the sizzling steaks and roasted chicken with all the mouth-watering gourmet fixings from talented chef Jay Gill, âYou will be a very happy family indeed.â
There is even more fun at Dinner-in-the-Park: A fabulous auction with wonderful items, such as tickets to sports events, weekend trips, lunch with Richard Blumenthal, lunch with Jim Maloney, and many intriguing items for your home, plus much, much more.
A celebrity array of guest auctioneers â First Selectman Herb Rosenthal, Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, Christopher Dodd, and US Representative James Maloney â will add a touch of class to the event.
Treadwell Park is the location of this Dinner-in-the-Park and cool jazz on July 14 starting at 6 pm. Tickets are $25 per person. No tickets will be sold at the gate. Get tickets by calling Joe Bojnowski at 426-4097.
