The Friends of the C.H. Booth Library are ready to welcome thousands to the 40th Anniversary Annual Book Sale, the largest book sale in New England. The sale runs Saturday, July 11, from 9 am to 5 pm, with ticket sales starting at 7 am. Admission of $5 is charged only on Saturday. Sunday hours are also 9 am to 5 pm. Monday is half-price day, with hours from 9 am to 7 pm; Tuesday, $5 a bag day, hours are 9 am to 7 pm. On Wednesday, all items left are free, and the sale is open from 9 am to noon. The sale takes place in the lobby, cafetorium, gymnasium, and adjacent rooms at Reed Intermediate School, Trades Lane, Newtown. Organizers anticipate a bumper year, hoping to exceed the net income last year of nearly $90,000. Proceeds of the sale support library programming throughout the year.

The cafetorium at Reed Intermediate School is filled with tables of books, organized and categorized, and ready for the thousands of shoppers that will swarm its aisles, beginning Saturday, July 11, when the Friends of the C.H. Booth Library 40th Anniversary Annual Book Sale gets underway. Over 120,000 books, CDs, DVDs, and LPs will be offered at bargain prices in the cafetorium, gym, and lobby of the school, through Wednesday, July 15.
