Historical Society Says Thanks
Historical Society Says Thanks
To the Editor:
On behalf of the Newtown Historical Society, I would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to all who helped make our annual House and Garden Tour an outstanding success. Kris Atwood and Rob Cuchetto, Lois and James Barber, Pat and Andrew Benkovich, Gail and David Friedman, Cathy and Mark Huniham, Sallie and Mike Meffert shared their beautiful homes and gardens. Tour guides were Kay Cochrane, Barbara Bonacci, Laurie Rabel, Chris and Kim Schmitt, Caroline Stokes, Paula Stephan, Bill and Helen Jarrett, Deb Osborne, Frances Barrett, Ella Millard, Lynn Bassett, Joanne Scebold, Eleanor and David Zolov, Cindi Kromberg, Patsy Beddoe-Stephens, Louise and Dick Baker, Anne Clark, Sally OâNeil, Bonnie Miller, Gordon Williams, Tucker and Marilyn Frey, and Margaret Clark. Special thanks to Elin Hayes, Joe at the Highway Department, Joe Rios, Don and Marge Studley, Lexington Gardens and Shannon Hicks and The Newtown Bee for their kindness and assistance.
We were blessed with good weather and good neighbors and greatly appreciate all that were willing to give of their time and energy to help the Historical Society. All proceeds from the house tour will go toward the preservation and ongoing maintenance of the buildings and educational programs of the museum, which is a non-profit organization.
Sincerely,
Sallie S. Meffert
