Shirley A. Miller

Shirley A. Miller, 82, wife of Dr John P. Miller, Jr, of 46 Main Street, Newtown, died July 8 at Ashlar of Newtown.

She was born in Bridgeport June 25, 1918, daughter of the late Erwin and Catherine (Baron) Mott. She was a graduate of Central High School in Bridgeport and graduated from Central Connecticut State University. A schoolteacher by profession, she was employed for many years as an elementary teacher.

A resident of Newtown since 1951, she was a past president and longtime member of the Newtown League of Women Voters. Mrs Miller was treasurer of Narragansett Railroad in Rhode Island.

She is survived, besides her husband, by one brother, Leslie Mott of Monroe.

Private services were held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were by Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.
