Financial Group Plans Fundraiser

BRIDGEPORT — The second annual fundraiser sponsored by the Fairfield County chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals to benefit St Vincent’s Swim Across the Sound will take place at the Bridgeport Bluefish baseball game, Harbor Yard, Wednesday, August 2, at 7:05 pm.

Total proceeds from $50 skybox tickets will go to Swim Across the Sound. Fifteen dollar tickets include admission, $4 in “BB” bucks for refreshment or souvenirs, and a $4 donation to the swim.

Swim Across the Sound, managed by the St Vincent’s Medical Center Foundation, funds 28 low-cost and free cancer screening and support groups, including free cancer risk appraisals, joint cancer prevention programs for Hispanic women with the Komen Foundation, corporate and community cancer education and screening programs, and nutrition counseling for cancer patients and their families.

Founded in 1928, the Society of Financial Service Professionals has more than 200 chapters nationwide. Society members assist the public in achieving personal and business-related financial goals, including estate, retirement, and financial planning; employee benefits; business and compensation planning; and life, health, disability, and long-term care insurance.
