Beat The Heat Summer Hike

WESTON — The Nature Conservancy invites the public to escape from the heat of summer on a short four-mile hike scheduled for Sunday, July 23, from 9 to 11:30 am or 1 pm at Devil’s Den Preserve, a 1,756-acre wooded nature preserve located on the Weston/Redding border, with a main entrance at the end of Pent Road in Weston.

The early morning hike will follow woodland trails and take advantage of a breezy high point and the cooling views of Godfrey Pond. Those wanting a longer hike can enjoy some additional trails at the end of the first session. Guides will be Gary Lupienski and Steve White.

There is no charge for this program, but reservations are required. Hikers should bring water and a snack. Interested participants should call the Devil’s Den office at 203/226-4991 weekdays between 9 am and 5 pm for registration, further information, or directions to the preserve.
