Dana Bartlett

Dana C. Bartlett, 68, of the Huntington section of Shelton, died peacefully on Saturday, July 3, at St Vincent’s Medical Center. He was the brother of Donald J. Bartlett of Sandy Hook.

Mr Bartlett was born in Portland, Maine, on June 26, 1942. He grew up in St John, Maine, where he married his high school sweetheart. The owner and operator of Dana’s Construction, LLC, he was a master carpenter and a skilled craftsman in his trade.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening, and was an avid Yankees fan. He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4716 and a member of “The Screw Ball Club.”

Mr Bartlett was predeceased by two loving sons, D.J. (Dana James) Bartlett and Johnny Edwin Bartlett; his parents, Edwin and Ethel Jackson Bartlett; and a brother, Edwin Bartlett.

In addition to his brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Sharon, of Sandy Hook, survivors include his devoted wife of 48 years, Geraldine Ouellette Bartlett; a loving daughter, Tammy Walkley and her husband, Robert, of Seymour; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Bartlett of Beacon Falls; another sister-in-law, Irene Bartlett of Trumbull; four cherished grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass celebrating his life will take place on Friday, July 9, at 10 am, in St Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Avenue in Shelton. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. There are be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 306 Industrial Park Road, Suite 107, Middletown CT 06457, or the American Cancer Society, 372 Danbury Road, Wilton CT 06897.
