Traditional Iroquois Beadwork Workshop

WASHINGTON — The public is invited to join beading artists Janis Us (of Mohawk-Shinnecock descent) and Anne Lowe-Salmon (Nipmuc) to create small purses during a traditional Iroquois beadwork workshop at The Institute of American Indian Studies, at 38 Curtis Road, on Saturday, July 17. While creating the purses participants will also learn about the history of the craft.

Fee is $15 per person and Connecticut educators can earn .5 CEU for participating. The workshop will run from 11 am to 3 pm. Call 860-868-0518 for details.
