Free Exhibition Tour At YCBA

NEW HAVEN — Yale Center for British Art (YCBA), 1080 Chapel Street, will offer a free exhibition tour at noon on Saturday, July 17, of “Ocean Flowers: Impressions from Nature in The Victorian Era.” Museum admission is always free; call 203-432-2800 for details.

The groundbreaking exhibition, on view until August 8, traces the development of early photography and artistic processes of the 19th Century in the context of natural history illustration through the presentation of more than 300 images including graphic media, conventional drawings, “nature prints” (direct imprints from plants), hand colored prints, mounted specimens and “photogenic drawings” (photos made without a camera).
