Family Art Adventure At The Aldrich

RIDGEFIELD — The Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art, which recently opened after a year of major renovations and expansion, is planning a fun-filled afternoon for all ages, “Family Art Adventure and Baby Mania,” on Saturday, July 17, from noon to 5 pm.

“Big Baby” artist Nina Levy – who created the oversize sculpture of a toddler that was displayed on the front lawn of the museum during the past year, will be on hand from 1 to 2:30 to tell the story of the creation of her gentle giant. Participants will be invited to collaborate with Ms Levy to make a limited edition handprint.

Visitors will also be invited to explore the museum’s new galleries through docent-led tours held every hour, and to stop by the Aldrich’s new education center between 3 and 5 pm to experiment with the materials used by visiting artists.

Admission will be free all day. The museum, at 258 Main Street (Route 35) in Ridgefield, can be reached at 203-458-4519.
