Denise Passano went 4-for-5 with a pair of triples to lead Davidson Insurance to a 15-6 win over Sandy Hook Wine & Liquor in Newtown Women’s Slo-Pitch Softball League action.

Karen Powell went 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles while Lorie Gibbons was 3-for-4 and Kelley Lametto pitched well. For Sandy Hook Wine, which fielded just eight players, Steff Pinto and Peg Bowers each homered while Tina Fiorella had a strong defensive game in centerfield and Paula Newberry pitched well.

In other action, Curtiss & Crandon defeated Special K, 18-3, as Diane Alicea belted a two-run homer. Lisa Dolyak went 3-for-3 with a triple while Ruth Rowe went 2-for-3 with a triple. Missy Desrochers was 2-for-2, also with a triple, while Heather Morgan went 3-for-3 with a double.

Recent action in the Newtown Parks and Recreation Weeknite Slo-Pitch Softball League –

OMC 14, Newtown Phone Book 6 – Kenny collected three hits and Dave M. had two to lead OMC to the win. For the Phone Book, Gary had three hits, including a homer.

TNT 21, 100 Church Hill 16 – Williams and Brendan collected four hits apiece to lead TNT to the win. For Church Hill, Herring and Kennedy banged out three hits apiece.

Newtown Exxon 14, BlindsGuys 9 – Jimmy T. and Tom B. each homered to lead Exxon while Tim had three hits and a homer to pace the BlindsGuys.

Kellogg’s Hardwood 23, BlindsGuys 7 – G. Pinto, B. Kachur, Doug Rose and Chris Dennis had four hits apiece to power Kellogg’s.

OMC 14, 100 Church Hill 2 – Brian Maciolek and Tom V. banged out three hits apiece to lead OMC. For Church Hill, Mike Dolyak had three hits.

OMC 18, BlindsGuys 1 – T.O. and Mike K. had three hits apiece while Rusty homered to power OMC. Bill and Neil had two hits apiece for the BlindsGuys.

Fireside 16, Newtown Phone Book 15 – Dave went 3-for-3 with a homer and four runs scored to lead the Fireside. Jimmy D. went 3-for-4 with a homer. For the Phone Book, Paul went 3-for-4 with a homer.

Newtown Phone Book 20, TNT 10 – Steve collected four hits, including a homer, to lead the Phone Book. Woody banged out three hits.

Fireside 17, 100 Church Hill 6 – Tim P. had three hits, including a pair of home runs, as Fireside rolled. Pete C. added three hits. For Church Hill, Mike and Joe collected two hits apiece.

Fireside 16, BlindsGuys 4 – John went 2-for-2 with a pair of home runs to lead Fireside to the win. Rich M. had a pair of hits. For the BlindsGuys, Steve went 3-for-3.

Newtown Exxon 16, OMC 5 – Kris Svensson went 3-for-3 with a homer and four runs scored to lead Exxon to the win. Gene Chappell went 3-for-4.

Kellogg’s Hardwood 10, Newtown Phone Book 7 – Chris Dennis went 2-for-2 with three runs scored while C. Maudsley had two hits, including a triple, to lead Kellogg’s. For the Phone Book, Jim went 3-for-3 with a homer.

Kellogg’s Hardwood 15, 100 Church Hill 11 – Brian and Chris Kachur each went 5-for-5 and G. Pinto banged out three hits with three runs scored to lead Kellogg’s. For Church Hill, M. Dolyak had three hits, including a homer.

100 Church Hill 18, TNT 1 – J. Carrino had three hits and D. Sabin had a pair of homers to lead Church Hill. For TNY, Scott Poarch had a pair of hits.
