Another Successful Carnival
Another Successful Carnival
To the Editor:
Thank you hardly seems adequate for the wonderful support that both our parish members and the greater Newtown community demonstrated for our annual carnival. Of course, we are first and foremost grateful to God for the blessings of good weather and the protection that he placed upon all who participated. While the carnival is a great financial success, it is much more important to us that so many come together to enjoy some relaxation and build a greater sense of community.
We are especially grateful to the many local businesses who made very generous donations and served as sponsors for the carnival. Our food booth served great food thanks to the following local restaurants: Coachâs Deli, The Fireside Inn, The Inn at Newtown, Mona Lisa Restaurant, and The Pizza Palace.
We are also very appreciative of the following businesses, professionals, and parishioners who sponsored our food tents: Advanced Real Estate, Amaral Motors, Arnold Construction, Arsenaultâs Stone Restoration, Berkshire Motors, Blue Colony Diner, Bagel Delight, Michael Burton Builders, Inc, Andrew Buzzi, Jr, The Buzzi Family, Carminuccioâs Pizza, Chupe International, LLC, City Grill, Kevin Cragin, Creative Mailing, Curtiss & Crandon, Drug Center, Duct Dusters, Flagpole Realty, Dr Brian W. Fullem, Dr Henry Gellert, The Gleason Group, Gallagher Lawnscape, Hall & Savarese Attorneys at Law, Hickey Septic, Law offices of Timothy J. Holian & Celia Barnum, Honan Funeral Home, Ice Cream Shop, Jennaâs The Shirt Off My Back, Kesco Electric, Kings of Newtown, Magic Garden, Marietta College, Newtown Cleaners, Newtown Exxon, The Kopcik Family, Nanavaty, Nanavaty & Davenport, Newtown Limousine, Newtown Savings Bank, Newtown Tree Service LLC, P.J.âs Laundromat, Peopleâs Bank, Anne Ragusa, Red Baron Carpet, Rosa Mexicano NYC, Rose Mexicano Washington, D.C., Rux Brothers Electric, Sandy Hook Diner, Shear Image, Stop & Save Liquors, Sullivanâs Jewelers, Suzuki Talent Education School, Bob Tendler Real Estate, Tier One, Tilson Construction, Michael Tobin Plumbing, Toy Tree, Trestle Tavern, UK Gourmet, Union Savings Bank, J.F. Walsh Logging & Mulch, Fr Bob Weiss, Yankee Wine & Spirits.
Entertainment adds to the happiness of the carnival, and this year we were blessed by the talents of John and Carol Stottle, The Southford Falls Quartet, DJ Bob McManus, and the Bear Cats Jazz Band. They lifted the spirits of all who were present!
The rides and games help to make the carnival a great experience. Stewart Amusements and Wilder Games once again provided safe rides, a pleasant staff, and fun games. There were lots of screams coming from Ali Baba and Rip Cord, and lots of stuffed animals leaving in the arms of lucky winners!
Safety is a primary concern, and I thank the officers of the Newtown Police Department and the members of the Newtown Hook and Ladder for their presence and vigilance throughout the carnival week.
Most of all, thanks to all of you who stopped by and enjoyed the carnival. I received many compliments from the workers about the politeness and family atmosphere present throughout the carnival. It is a credit to the community to want to come together and enjoy one another. Our parishioners certainly gave much of their time, talent, and treasure to make this a successful event. I have always lived by the motto: Everyone Doing a Little Makes a Lot Happen! This carnival certainly proved that to be true.
God bless and thanks
