Fraser-Woods Summer Session Students Love Nature!
Fraser-Woods Montessori School recently finished its first summer program session for Lower School students themed toward nature. All of the activities and lessons were related to the world of biology. Students discussed the many different layers of which the ground is composed; sprouted beans and discussed the parts of a plant; decorated clay pots and planted geraniums; went on a nature walk through the nature trail on the school grounds; made âdirt dishesâ out of Oreos, homemade chocolate ice cream, and gummy worms; and many other art activities.
The session culminated with a visit from Riverside Reptiles. They brought along many creatures including a tarantula, a giant cockroach, millipede, Russian tortoise, and a huge Burmese python.
