Tyler Hull and Ryan Chapin banged out two hits apiece, driving in a total of four runs, to lead Newtown #2 to a 12-7 win over Southbury in the Babe Ruth Baseball 16-18 Division action.
Newtown boasted a 12-hit attack, with Chris Nordstrom, Charlie Coates, Matt Nicholl, Greg Britton, Marl Fracker and Graham Philbrick all banging out hits. Charley Fulkerson scored three times. On the mound, Hull scattered four hits in four strong innings of work and got solid relief help from Britton and Fulkerson.
Joe Coates and Tony Willie was solid behind the plate.
