Dorothy M. Bradway, 63, of Vernon and Stonington, died July 7 at her home, peacefully surrounded by her family, after a brief illness.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Pete Nowak of Newtown.
She was the wife of Warren L. Bradway, Jr. They were married in 1961 in Putnam Baptist Church. She was born April 18, 1938, in Putnam, daughter of the late Fred and Sylvia (Warren) Morrarty. She was a graduate of Killingly High School in Danielson. Mrs Bradway had made her home in Vernon for the last 40 years. Formerly of Putnam and Danielson, she spend summers on Lordâs Point in Stonington. She enjoyed sewing, collecting postcards, roller-skating, gardening, UConn Womenâs Basketball, and most of all her grandchildren.
She leaves, in addition to her husband of 40 years and daughter, another daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Kevin Gilot of Mystic; two sisters, Jane Morrarty of Canterbury, and Sybil Williams of Pomfret Center; four granddaughters, Kayla and Melissa Nowak and Emily and Kelci Gilot; and one uncle and three aunts.
The funeral service was held July 10 at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam. Burial was in Grove Street Cemetery, Putnam.
