Matthew Joseph D'Amato
Matthew Joseph D'Amato, 73, of Trumbull, loving husband of Linda Lutters D'Amato, died June 30. Born in Yonkers, N.Y., September 8, 1939, he was a son of Alfonso F. and Jennie Saltarelli D'Amato.
In addition to his devoted wife of 46 years, survivors include a daughter, Dana Nuzzo, and her husband Frank, of Newtown and a son, Allan D'Amato, and his wife Lisa, of Trumbull; six cherished grandchildren; two sisters, Philomena Mead and Joanne Brooks, and her husband Tom; sister-in-law Amy Lutters; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Loren Elizabeth D'Amato, and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Mead.
He was a member of the Army Reserves for six years, and the owner and operator, for 32 years, of Nutmeg Marketing Company.
He was a member of the Tashua Knolls Senior Golf Club, a Tea Party Patriot, and was president of Doberman Pinscher Club of the Tappan Zee.
Funeral services took place July 6. Interment was in Oaklawn Cemetery, Fairfield.
