Recht Receives MD Degree

Brian Recht, son of Richard and Carol Recht of Tunnel Road, received his doctor of medicine degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry on May 31. Dr Recht began a three-year residency in family medicine at Natividad Medical Center in Salinas, Calif., on June 15.

Dr Recht began his premedical studies in 1998 at the University of Virginia. He later took courses at Yale University and Western Connecticut State University. Before entering medical school at U of R, he completed a postbaccalaureate program at the University of Connecticut.

A 1982 graduate of Newtown High School, he received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Rochester in 1986. Licensed by the state of California as a professional engineer, he had worked in the field of alternative energy.
