A Summer Of Reading
A Summer Of Reading
To the Editor:
To mark the beginning of the libraryâs summer reading program, the Friends of the C.H. Booth Library held its annual Childrenâs Book Sale on Wednesday, June 29 at the Reed Intermediate School. Hundreds and hundreds of used and new childrenâs books were snatched up by the eager young readers. Judging from the number of books sold in the âGrown-upsâ Cornerâ â a new feature of the sale this year â many âolderâ readers will be setting a good example for their kids this summer, too!
Our thanks go to the school staff members who made the sale possible, Bea Gellert, Rich Mills, and Kathy Nostrand, and to the following Friends volunteers who worked so hard to promote childrenâs reading: Lynn and H.D. Bassett, Jay, Amanda, and Alan Diaz, Stephen Dworkin, Mary Maki, Bonnie Miller, Eric Neidhardt, Carm OâNeill, Gloria Ricco, Julie and Pete Stern, Barbara Yarbrough, and Eleanor Zolov.
Sincerely,
Denise A. Kaiser
