Lawrence Oliver III (“Larry,” “Butch”), 56, son of the late Lawrence Oliver, Jr, and late Patsy (Fearon) Oliver, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Sandy Hook, on June 28. He was born May 27, 1965. Larry attended Newtown schools, graduating from Newtown High School in 1984.

He is survived by his sisters, Lori Sperling of Maryville, Tenn., Teresa Dedrick (Ray) of Knoxville, Tenn., and JoAnn Oliver (Karl) of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; several nieces, nephews, and many family members.

Larry was employed at Meadow Ridge in Redding. He was an active member of St Rose of Lima Parish in Newtown and a member of the Virgilius Council #185 Knights of Columbus.

Larry was known for making people laugh and always helping others.

There will be a memorial Mass at 11 am on Friday, July 23, at St Rose of Lima Church.
