The NY Daily News called Proof  “…a compelling evening of theatre … and [a] smart and compassionate play of ideas.”

“Both musically and theatrically…a triumph of ensemble playing. It doesn’t merely celebrate the value of friendship and life’s simple pleasures, it embodies them…” wrote The NY Times in a review of what will be staged as RTB’s second production, the toe-tappin’, knee-slappin’ musical, Pump Boys and Dinettes. Opening on November 17, the production will be directed by E. Kyle Minor.

The first production of the new year will be Jane Wagner’s The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe. Created for her partner, Lily Tomlin, Signs is a tribute to Ms Wagner’s witty and incisive writing and her 1986 award-winning script remains fresh, perceptive and pointed — and every bit as rich in laughs — now as it was back then.

Marc Cameron, the critically-acclaimed director of the theater barn’s 2005 production The Shadow Box, has promised to return to direct The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life. That production will open on February 23.

The final production of the season, and the 2007 summer offering, is Man of La Mancha, the winner of five Tony Awards for Musical, Composer and Lyricist, Director, Scenic Designer and Actor, in addition to The New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Musical and The Outer Critics Circle Award for Production.

The story of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza, Man of La Mancha will open June 15 with Craig David Rosen directing.

Ridgefield Theater Barn is at 37 Halpin Lane. Seating is cabaret style and patrons are invited to bring food and beverage. Doors open one hour prior to curtain.

Season tickets are by mail or phone only: adults $84, seniors (62) and students $68, and prices reflect a savings of $2 per ticket per show. A downloadable order form is available online at TheaterBarn.org or call 203-431-9850.
