The Newtown Sandy Hooks vintage base ball team will battle the Essex Nine on Saturday, July 8, in an 1864s match as part of Living History Days, a weekend Civil War re-enactment festival in Belchertown, Massachusetts.

First pitch will be at 12 noon.

And for those interested in Civil War era recreations, a schedule of events – such as dramatic performances featuring Clara Barton and the infamous Lincoln-Douglas debates – for Saturday is below.

Continuous Events – Children’s Period Games and Activities, Printing, Stone House Open for Tours, Topographical Engineers, New Haven Ladies Aide Society, Basket making workshop, 19th century Cooking Demonstrations, Artisan Demonstrations.

Admission for events at the Stone House (includes a tour of the Stone House Museum) will be $8 for adults, $4 for children under 12, $6 for Members of the Belchertown Historical Association.
