Bert Bernardi

Retired Toolmaker

Bert Bernardi, 85, of Fairfield, beloved husband of Mary Nash Bernardi, died July 1 in St Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport. Mr Bernardi was born in Bridgeport and was a lifelong area resident.

Survivors in addition to his wife include a son, James Bernardi and his wife, Carolyn, of Newtown; a daughter, Mary Hillman of Tapon Springs, Fla.; three grandchildren, Kelly, Megan, and Erin Bernardi; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr Bernardi was a retired toolmaker for Central Tool Company and Moore Special Tool. He served in the US Navy during World War II.

Funeral services were held July 5 from The Larson Funeral Home, Bridgeport, and in the Assumption Church, Fairfield, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment was in Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown.
