Tekla M. (Silakowski) Wright, 77, of 136 Grassy Plain Street, Bethel, a devoted wife and mother, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on July 6. She was the wife of William Wright and the mother of Anne M. Hugyo of Newtown.
Mrs Wright was born in Queens, N.Y., a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Lipinski) Silakowski, and had been a resident of Bethel for over 50 years. She was a retired employee of the Eaton Corporation in Bethel where she had worked for over 20 years. More recently she had volunteered her time at the Bethel Town Hall.
Besides her husband of 58 years, she is survived by three sons, William R. Wright of Chapel Hill, N.C., James M. Wright of Fairfield, Calif., Bryan Wright of Bethel; four other daughters, Ellen Bigelow of Redding, Barbara R. Wright of Salt Lake City, Utah, Phyllis Beardsley of Bethel, and Madeline Burke of Bethel; and eight grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the St Judeâs Shrine, 512 W. Saratoga, Baltimore, MD 21201
The funeral service was conducted from the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Avenue, Bethel, July 8, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St Joseph Church, Danbury. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery, Bethel.
