To the Editor:

As co-founders of the Connecticut COVID-19 Charity Connection (4-CT), we are extremely grateful to be one of the charities to benefit from this year’s Travelers Championship that took place June 25-28. The 2020 Championship was just the third PGA Tour event to be held during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our organization is only a few months old, so to be selected by Travelers as a beneficiary of the tournament is an incredible honor.

4-CT was formed on April 1 to bolster the resources available to Connecticut’s frontline nonprofit providers who are serving all areas impacted by the COVID-19 crisis, and to date we have generated nearly $20 million to fulfill our mission to coordinate philanthropy throughout the state to quickly get funds to those who need them most. To do this, we partner with community foundations, nonprofits, philanthropists, corporations, and donors to collect, develop, and adapt potential solutions and prioritize and fund high-impact projects.

The $150,000 gift from the Travelers Championship will be a major boost to our efforts to provide immediate support to those with the most urgent needs across the state in the wake of COVID-19. On behalf of everyone associated with 4-CT, thank you to Travelers and all those involved in making this year’s tournament a success.
