Summer Workshops For Young People At Library
Summer Workshops For Young People At Library
Area artist and crafts instructor Katie Stevenson will lead two programs, Monday, July 23, and Tuesday, July 24, for young people, at the C.H. Booth Library.
On Monday, from 3:30 to 4:30 pm, children ages 6 to 9 will learn how to build a fairy house, using a variety of natural materials, provided by Ms Stevenson.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own objects to add a personal touch.
This class is limited to 15 children. A $5 materials fee is due the day of the program.
On Tuesday, from 1 to 2:30 pm, the Altered Books program invites young people in rising grades 5 through 12 to transform an old book into a personalized work of art, under Ms Stevensonâs direction.
Participants can bring an old book to cut up and decorate, or one will be provided. Board books work especially well for this project. Personal photos, embellishments, fabric, feathers, pebbles, old cards, and trim scraps can be brought with to incorporate into the art work.
The class is limited to 12 young people. A supply fee of $6 is required, payable at the class.
