Elizabeth “Betty” Madigan Stratford, 81, of Stratford, the beloved wife of the late Frank E. Stratford, died June 28, in Bridgeport Hospital, with her loving family by her side. She was born November 30, 1930, in Bridgeport, and was the daughter of John and Ella Rule Madigan.

Three sons, Dennis Stratford, and wife Andrea, of Sandy Hook, David Stratford, and wife Michelle, of Orange, and Kevin Stratford of New Haven; three daughters, Mary Ellen Stratford of Rocky Hill, Eileen Gilson, and husband Bill, of Lordship, and Amy Stratford O’Leary of Stratford; eight grandchildren; and two nieces survive Mrs Stratford.

She worked as a registered nurse at Bridgeport Hospital for 40 years. Mrs Stratford enjoyed visiting the casino and her outings with her “Lunch Bunch” from childhood. She was a former member of the Gaelic Club in Fairfield and volunteered at the Merton House and St Vincent’s Medical Center.

Funeral services took place June 30. Interment was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
