Beware Of The Side Effects
Of The Pill
To the Editor:
We all know that our medications do a lot of good when taken under doctorâs orders to combat illness. Most of us are also aware that there are side effects more or less severe.
Our government is promoting contraception for women. Well, pregnancy never used to be an illness. Under Obamacare we all are supposed to pay for contraceptives, abortion, and more. This makes me wonder about the following:
What are the possible side effects of the pill? We hear so little about it. The media puts it almost as a cure for the condition of being pregnant. When I was reading about this subject I discovered that there are doctors speaking up, only we hardly hear from them.
CBS News house doctor Jennifer Ashton reported on the June 2 Early Show that the FDA has issued a new safety warning against the pills because of fear of increased risk of dangerous blood clots. This was in the wake of the tragic death last September of 18 year old Michelle Pfleger, who collapsed at college in cardiac arrest from a massive blood clot in her lungs believed to be caused by taking YAZ.
In an article of the Population Research Institute April 2012, Dr Rebecca Peck notes, âthe pill causes significant harm to women. I see young women with blood clots in their legs, strokes, early breast cancer, HPV, and cervical cancer. But women arenât toldâ¦â
Jo Tolck, the executive director of Human Life Alliance, writes: âUnder âfree health careâ our President offers us a drug classified by the World Health Organization as a group one carcinogenâ¦â
In EWTN News I read, âbetween 2004 and 2008 the FDA received reports of more than 50 deaths of women, some as young as 17, who had been taking the Bayer contraceptives YAZ and Yasmin.â
Do you still want to take your chance?
