‘It’s For The Church’

To the Editor:

On behalf of the Knights of Columbus, Council 185 in Newtown, I would like to thank the two local restaurants that supported the Fried Dough booth at St Rose of Lima carnival this year. If it were not for the generosity of Pizza Palace and Carminuccio’s, we would not be able to support our parish as much as we do. All the money generated at the Fried Dough booth goes to St Rose of Lima parish.

Often, during the carnival, when I make my rounds to pick up hundreds of pounds of dough or dozens of quarts of sauce, I hear the kitchen help telling the patrons,“It’s for the church.” I am glad the owners of these fine restaurants are proud to tell their friends and customers what they do for St Rose. Please help us support them in return by visiting their restaurants. Jimmy, John, and Ed, thank you very much for your support, your generosity, and kindness.
