Fine Homebuilding Donates Tools To Habitat
Fine Homebuilding Donates Tools To Habitat
On June 21, two members of the Housatonic Habitat for Humanity work crew, Jim Moon and Rich McDermott, took time from their busy building schedule to stop by Fine Homebuilding magazineâs editorial office in Newtown. The two longtime Habitat volunteers were more than happy to load up their truck and haul away circular saws, rotary hammers, a cordless, handheld band saw, gas powered framing nailers, reciprocating saws, a cordless drill, a shop vac, and other assorted tools.
Habitat for Humanity works in partnership to build homes for the inadequately sheltered, creating self-reliant families and enriched communities. Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individuals and corporate donors provide money and materials. The tools donated by Fine Homebuilding were purchased by the company or were materials sent in by manufacturers for review.
Upon receiving the donated materials at chapter headquarters, Executive Assistant Karen Anderson commented, âThis is the first time we have ever received such a windfall. Everyone is very excited.â
