Summer Time Means Science Time

The Newtown Junior Women’s Club is planning its Funtastic Science Fair for Saturday, October 26. It will be held at the Newtown Middle School cafeteria from 10 am to noon. The Funtastic Science Fair is an event separate from the Discovery Science, Math and Technology Workshops, which take place in early spring. The Funtastic Science Fair requires entrants to create their own project related to science.

The fair is open to all children, kindergarten through fifth grade, who reside in Newtown. Registration forms will be handed out in the public schools and can also be obtained from the Newtown Park and Recreation Department, as well as the Children’s Department of the Cyrenius Booth Library.

The Funtastic Science Fair is a noncompetitive event; each participant will, however, receive a ribbon and certificate of completion. Children are being asked to use part of their summer vacation to do some thinking, research, and scientific exploration to create an exciting project for the October fair.
