Log Home Rep Hosting Chamber Social
Jane and Don Sharpe will once again host Newtown Chamber of Commerce members and guests Wednesday, July 16, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, at their Ward Cedar Log Home at 62 Underhill Road in Sandy Hook.
Along with a networking reception, attendees will get the chance to view the design, architecture, and views of this showcase home and gardens nestled on the edge of Lake Zoar. Cocktails and hors dâoeuvres will be served, and all guests will receive a raffle ticket for the chance to take a moonlight boat cruise.
As a regional rep for Ward Cedar Log Homes, Jane Sharpe provides everything from custom-drafted designs to general and subcontractors, mortgage lending referrals, and construction site work. She has also hosted several well-attended Chamber functions at her home in the past.
There is no charge for this event.
In other Chamber news, the Newtown and Monroe Chambers of Commerce are planning their Annual Golf Outing on Wednesday, October 1, at Whitney Farms Golf Course. Proceeds of this event will go to support the Newtown Tree Lighting Committee, Newtown Youth & Family Services, and Monroe Business Scholarship.
Golfers can participate in foursomes or as individuals. Companies and individuals can also help by sponsoring holes, tees, golf carts, and refreshments for the event.
There are also individual prize hole sponsors for Closest to the Line, Closest to the Pin, and Longest Drive for men and women. Nonplaying individuals can attend the Business After Hours, which begins with cocktails at 5 pm.
The title sponsor for this yearâs event is Victorinox Swiss Army; other businesses such as Newtown Savings Bank, Union Savings Bank, and Peopleâs United Bank have contributed to the tournament.
Registration is open to the public. Entry fees are $125 if purchased before August 1 and $140 after August 1 and include lunch, greens fees and the Business After Hours.
Nongolfers are welcome to attend the Business After Hours for $30. Reservations and prepayment are required for golf and lunch.
