Violations
Police said they stopped motorist Christopher J. Maurer, Jr, 16, of 12 Stone Gate Drive at about 9 pm June 28 in Newtown Shopping Village on Queen Street for having made a left turn on a red traffic signal. Police said Maurer was found to be in possession of a pipe used to smoke illegal drugs.
Police charged Maurer with failure to obey a traffic signal and with possession of drug paraphernalia. Police released him on a promise to appear July 8 in Danbury Superior Court to answer the charges.
Riverside DUI
Police said that at about 9:25 pm June 27, they stopped motorist Theodore Kuroski, 39, of Waterbury after they saw him cross the roadâs centerline and then stop in the travel lane, while traveling eastward on Riverside Road.
Police pulled over Kuroski and investigated, charging him with driving under the influence, failure to drive to the right on a curve, failure to have brake lights, failure to have an illuminated rear marker plate, failure to drive to the right, and improper parking.
Police released Kuroski on a $100 bond for a July 10 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Honda Vs Deer
Motorist James Woodward, 50, of New Hartford was driving a 1990 Honda Accord northward on South Main Street, near Homestead Lane, about 3:45 pm June 25, when a deer entered the road, police said. The auto and deer collided.
Woodward was not injured. No enforcement was taken.
Mt Pleasant
Motorist Tammy Fenaroli, 37, of 61 Tomahawk Trail, who was driving a 2000 Chrysler Town and Country minivan eastward on Mt Pleasant Road on June 26, signaled to make a right turn, police said.
 Eastbound motorist Gail OâDell, 50, of 49 Schoolhouse Hill Road, who was driving a 1997 Ford Taurus station wagon, attempted to pass the Chrysler on the right, believing that the Chrysler was making a left turn, resulting in a collision, police said.
There were no injuries. Police issued OâDell a written warning for passing on the right.
South Main Crash
Motorist Jose Cordeiro, 57, of Danbury, who was driving a 2001 Ford F-350 pickup truck, was making a U-turn at 26 South Main Street about 5:44 pm June 23, when the Ford scraped a parked 1998 Jeep Cherokee that was driven by David S. Finnegan, 42, of 15 Flat Swamp Road, police said. There were no injuries. Police issued Cordeiro an infraction ticket for making an improper turn and failure to have an automotive insurance identification card.

Vandalism
On June 29, police charged Domenick Tramontozzi, 37, of 1 Pequot Trail with third degree criminal mischief in connection with a vandalism incident. Police released Tramontozzi on a $500 bond for a June 30 court appearance to answer the charge.
Objects From Overpass
On the night of June 25, someone dropped objects from the Tunnel Road overpass onto passing vehicles below on eastbound Interstate 84, state police said.
The unspecified objects were dropped onto vehicles driven by David Tokarski, 18, of 172 Boggs Hill Road, and by Robert Wexler, 39, of 5 Bishop Circle, state police said. There were no injuries. State police are investigating.

Queen Street Keys
Police report that a passerby found a set of keys along Queen Street. Police received the keys for safekeeping midday on June 30. The set includes keys for a Chrysler, Subaru, and Honda. The owner should contact police at 3 Main Street to claim the keys.
Castle Hill Crash
Motorist George Smiley, IV, 18, of 8 Rockywood Drive, who was driving a 1987 Volvo 240-DL station wagon eastward on Castle Hill Road near King Street about 10 am June 29, lost control as he was negotiating a curve on the wet road and crossed the centerline, colliding with a westbound pickup truck, police said.
Police said Smiley told them that the two males who were in the pickup truck left the accident scene. Police said they issued Smiley two written warnings for motor vehicle violations, adding that the accident remains under investigation.
Commerce Road
Motorist Melanie Troll, 18, of 33 Far View Drive was driving a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee northward on Commerce Road near Church Hill Road about 11 am June 25, when the vehicleâs brakes failed, police said. The Jeep struck a road sign and a tree, but Troll was not injured, police said. Police issued Troll a written warning for defective brakes.
Hawleyville Accident
Police report a two-car accident about 5 pm June 28 on Hawleyville Road, near Exit 9 of Interstate 84.
Police said motorist Panagiotis Kaltsas, 72, of Trumbull, who was driving a 1988 Chevrolet Spectrum, was turning into a dirt parking area near an Exit 9 off-ramp, when the Chevrolet was involved in a collision with motorist Elizabeth Castillo, 21, PO Box 117, Newtown, who was driving a 1992 Mitsubishi Mirage southward on Hawleyville Road.
The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported Lucy Kaltsas, 69, of Trumbull, who was a Chevrolet passenger, to Danbury Hospital for treatment of arm pain, police said.
Police issued Panagiotis Kaltsas a written warning for making a restricted turn.
Mile Hill DUI
Police said they saw motorist Nancy J. Francesco, 45, of 68 Riverside Road driving erratically eastward on Mile Hill Road about 1 am July 3, after which they stopped her, investigated and charged her with driving under the influence and failure to drive to the right.
After processing the case, police released Francesco on a $100 bond for a July 17 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Car Into Tree
Motorist Stephen D. Castlehano, 19, of Jupiter, Fla., was driving a Nissan 300-Z sports car southward on Hanover Road, in the area north of Silver City Road, when he lost control of the auto, veered to the right, and struck a tree about 12:40 am July 1, police said.
The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported him to Danbury Hospital for treatment of injuries. Police issued Castlehano an infraction ticket for making a restricted turn.
Rear-Ender
Motorist Tyler Wright, 25, of 2 Taunton Lane, who was driving a 1998 Ford Explorer northward on South Main Street, was stopped at a red traffic signal at South Main Streetâs intersection with Mile Hill Road at about 9 am July 2, when Wrightâs foot slipped off the brake pedal and the Ford rolled forward into a stopped 1993 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Norma Tetyanechko, 25, of Bridgeport, police said. There were no injuries. Police issued Wright a written warning for following too closely.
Hattertown Collision
Trucker Daniel Merusi, 21, of Katonah, N.Y., was driving a 1991 International dump truck southward near 192 Hattertown Road about 10:20 am July 2, when he stopped and attempted to back up into a driveway, police said.
 In making the maneuver, the truck collided with the front end of a southward 1997 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by Miguel Barreira, 32, of Stratford, police said. There were no injuries.
Police issued Merusi an infraction ticket for unsafe backing. Police issued both drivers written warnings for failure to carry automotive insurance identification cards.
Moving Violations
While on patrol about 11 pm July 2 on Mt Pleasant Road, near The Old Road, police noticed that an auto driven by Glenda M. Armstrong, 48, of Danbury carried an outdated marker plate.
Police stopped Armstrong and investigated, charging her with failure to display a reflectorized marker plate, driving under suspension, driving an unregistered vehicle, and driving without automotive insurance.
Police released Armstrong on a promise to appear August 5 in Danbury Superior Court.
