Fahey Gets Public Service Award

Newtown resident Stephen P. Fahey, president and chief executive officer of Hall-Brooke Behavioral Health Services in Westport, was cited recently by the Connecticut Secretary of State’s office for his public service.

The Public Service Award was given to “dedicated volunteers” across Connecticut who serve on boards and committees that make the state and its towns and cities “work,” according to Secretary of State Susan Bysiewicz.

Appointed by Gov John Rowland, Mr Fahey has served on the Connecticut Mental Health Strategy Board since 2001. He serves on the boards of the Westport/Weston Chamber of Commerce and Bridge House in Bridgeport. He also is a board member of the National Association of Psychiatric Health Systems (NAPHS), headquartered in Washington, D.C.

The Public Service Award was created, Ms Bysiewicz explained, to give volunteers “the recognition they deserve” and to encourage others to emulate them.

Mr Fahey joined Hall-Brooke in May 2000. Previously he was a senior executive for regional integrated health care systems headquartered in Georgia, Virginia, and Florida. Hall-Brooke, located at 47 Long Lots Road, Westport, is a wholly owned subsidiary of St Vincent’s Health Care Services of Bridgeport.
