Exhibition Reception July 7 At Municipal Center Gallery
A reception for the current show at the Municipal Art Gallery, “Come Wander,” has been scheduled for Thursday, July 7, from 6 to 8 pm.
The Gallery is in the main corridor of Newtown Municipal Center, 3 Primrose Street.
The artists behind the exhibit, Virginia Zimmerman and Michele Hermsen, will be there to answer questions about their art and the path they followed creating the exhibit.
Newtown resident Zimmerman is well known as the artist behind the “Welcome to Newtown” mural on the railroad overpass on Church Hill Road.
A resident of Fairfield, Hermsen is K-12 District Art Department Coordinator at Fairfield Public Schools.
Both artists teach at Ludlowe High school in Fairfield.
The show will continue through the end of July, and can be viewed weekdays. It can also be viewed evenings when town board and commissions meet at the municipal center.
“Come Wander” is hosted by Newtown Cultural Arts Commission.
